It’s hard to believe, but we’re in our last month of summer! It’s time to start transitioning to fall. Our friends at Zaarly have a few tips to keep up your home in the dog days of summer while headed into a new season!
HVAC Check-up
Your HVAC is going to be working overtime in August and will soon be getting ready for a changing season. Give it the TLC it needs — change the filters and schedule regular maintenance.

Yard Debris
Chances are that your lawn took a hit with all of the recent storms in the area. It isn’t safe to have storm debris around the yard. Have it cleared out before the next big storm.

Waterproofing the Basement
Once you’ve cleaned up from the storms, it’s a good idea to make sure things like water damage don’t happen again (or won’t happen in the future). Have your basement waterproofed after diagnosing the underlying problem.

Carpet Cleaning
A rain-heavy and hot summer means that carpets can retain extra moisture, which can present a problem down the line. All of the excess moisture can also cause your home to have unhealthy air. Have your carpets cleaned a couple times a year (more if you have pets or if you have family members with severe allergies.)

Mold Remediation
Finding mold in your home is never fun — and is very stressful most of the time. A hot summer combined with lots of rain can bring up mold issues. Get them taken care as quickly as possible so you don’t deal with an even bigger problem later in the year.
